Yes, you heard me right! A boot camp has been set up as a cure for web obsession in South Korea. It’s called Jump Up Internet Rescue School *laugh* and it is part boot camp, part rehab center for young kids that are obsessed with the internet. The kids have hardly done any physical exercise at all and their social skills is down at zero.
According to one leading expert, up to 30 percent of South Koreans under age 18, that would be about 2.4 million people, are at risk of internet addiction. And according to the The New York Times - “Compulsive Internet use has been identified as a mental health issue in other countries, including the United States.”
Thankfully I’m not that obsessed myself but I bet that there are many that are. Are you? ;)
